Entertaining over spring? Here are some of our favourite healthy snack ideas

With warmer days and the holiday season just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to catch up with friends and loved ones – but how can you make the food and drinks you serve both delicious and healthy?

We’ve got some amazing ideas for snacks and drinks that will not only please your guests this spring, but also help super-charge their gut health and overall wellbeing with Meluka’s product range.


Snacking made easy

If you want to offer healthier snacks for your guests, consider swapping out chips and charcuterie boards with spring snacks that heroes fresh veggies. You really can’t go wrong with a great guac among friends, which is why we’ve put a healthy spin on a simple guacamole recipe that incorporates all the gut-health goodness of Meluka’s Raw Honey Probiotic Concentrate.

Gut-Happy Guacamole



  1. Scoop out flesh of ripe avocados, mash with fork.
  2. Juice 1 lime.
  3. Combine avocado, lime and finely minced garlic (1 to 2 cloves, depending on preference) in a bowl.
  4. Season with a pinch of salt and 15mL of Meluka’s Raw Honey Probiotic Concentrate.
  5. Use fork to combine. Serve immediately.


Refreshing drinks and desserts

The surge in popularity for low- and no-alcohol beverages means you have plenty of flavourful drink options to serve your guests – some of which can double as a tasty dessert! Here’s an easy recipe that works as either a drink or a dessert, depending on when you serve them. These lime granitas will keep your guests coming back for seconds.

Lush lime granita



  1. Combine 1½ cups of warm water and 2 tablespoons of Meluka’s Native Wildflower Raw Honey until dissolved.
  2. When syrup has cooled completely, add ¾ cup of strained lime juice, lime zest and 15mL of Meluka’s Raw Honey Probiotic Concentrate – Lemon.
  3. Place mixture in the freezer for an hour.
  4. When set, use a fork to break up ice and mix to combine until the granita is slushy and ready to be served.


Kids treats

Tasty treats that hit the sweet spot don’t have to be packed with sugar. In the hours before your guests arrive, try this recipe for no-bake mini cheesecakes to leave every little belly completely satisfied.


  • Ginger nut biscuits, packet (any brand) or homemade
  • 2 tbs unsalted butter
  • Salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 170g cream cheese
  • Meluka’s Native Wildflower Raw Honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Line muffin tin with baking cups.
  2. Blitz ½ cup of ginger nut biscuits in food processor, or crush by hand in a bowl with a wooden spoon.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.
  4. To make crust, combine crushed ginger nut biscuits, melted butter and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  5. Spoon 2 tablespoons of mixture across 8 lined baking cups, using your fingers to press down before placing them in the freezer.
  6. To make the filling, whip heavy cream in a mixing bowl, while incorporating softened cream cheese, ¼ cup of Meluka’s Native Wildflower Raw Honey and vanilla extract. Mix until a smooth batter is formed.
  7. Take the crust mix out of the freezer and layer two scoops of the batter into each lined baking cup.
  8. Place back in the freezer for at least 4 hours before serving.
