At the heart of our Meluka Honey story resides our two thousand acres of pristine rainforest wetlands, nestled within Australia’s Bungawalbin Valley in the Northern Rivers of NSW.
This area has been identified as the birthplace of the Melaleuca Alternifolia species of Tea Tree, which has been growing on our land for over 35,000 years. Cherished for their enduring strength and healing qualities, the ancient mother trees provide the spiritual pulse to our sustainable practices.
Foraging on the Melaleuca Alternifolia Tea Tree and other native Australian botanical species in the Bungawalbin region, Meluka bees are drawn to what the Bundjalung Aboriginal people have known for thousands of years - the unique healing properties of Tea Tree.
